Ag PhD Field Day July 26th!

We have more activities, more guest speakers, more demonstrations, and more acres than ever for this year’s event! We also have some of the highest-yielding farmers in the world who will be there to speak and to show you their plots they have been managing on the farm all season long. I know you are busy, but this day will absolutely be worth your time, and we’ll have a lot of fun, too! Plus, we have activities for kids and alternative presentations and entertainment for spouses and others throughout the day.

  • A special guided tour of the Ag PhD research plots with Brian & Darren
  • First Steps Barley plot & speaker – Warren Darling (current world record-holder)
  • First Steps Soybean plots & speakers – Randy Dowdy (current world record-holder), Jimmy Frederick, Perry Galloway, Matt Miles, Kelly Garrett
  • First Steps Corn plots & speakers – David Hula (current world record-holder), Kevin Matthews, Kevin Kalb, Dan Luebkes, Chad Henderson, Randy Dowdy
  • First Steps Wheat plots & speakers – Eric Watson (current world record-holder), Lee Lubbers
  • Live demonstrations (weather-permitting) to include planting, tillage, harvesting, spraying, tiling, and more!
  • Large equipment ride & drive area
  • Additional guest speakers include experts in grain marketing, drainage law, biotechnology, irrigation, and more!
  • Alternative program featuring Rob Sharkey (Shark Farmer), the Farm Babe, Mollie B (host of the Mollie B Polka Party), estate planning, consumer panel, and more
  • Kid’s activities throughout the day
  • Free food & refreshments all day
  • In case of inclement or hot weather, we have several air-conditioned buildings on-site, but keep in mind our average daily temperatures at that time of year are mild, roughly 85 for a high and 60 for a low
